New partners, new destinations!

We have recently been meeting with some of our new partners in Cyprus and Malta to plan our new work with them over the coming year. We are very excited to be able to offer new destinations to our learners and look forward to growing these new partnerships over the coming months.

In Cyprus, we met with ShipCon who are based in Limassol in the South-East of the Island. ShipCon have vast experience on Erasmus+ and other international projects and host a number of learners every year on a variety of programmes. We will be sending Travel & Tourism learners to Cyprus for their work experience placements, and were pleased to be able to visit a number of host organisations while we were out there. One of these was Pekfos Hotel, where students would be able to gain experience in front-of-house and Reception roles. Other placements will include exclusive resorts, and tour and excursion companies.

We were also able to visit some accommodation in Cyprus, where students will stay in hostel-style dorms with shared living facilities as well as leisure facilities such as pool tables and film nights. As well as having dedicated 24/7 support from ShipCon staff while out there, students will also be able to make the most of life in Cyprus through organised trips to local places of interest including sandy beaches and ancient ruins!

Over in Malta, we met with our new partner Paragon Europe who are based in the town of Mosta in the centre of the Island. Paragon Europe host over 3,000 students in Malta each year and as well as offering internships have specialist language courses for learners. Our students will be taking part in Accounting and Motor Mechanics placements in Malta. During our visit we met with Bronzsons, a family-run Garage who have been welcoming international students for many years. Josef, the manager of the company, explained that he likes to give students an opportunity to experience all sides of what it’s like to work in a garage so that they can gain a lot of practical experience.

In Malta, students will stay in shared apartments with other members of their group. With excellent transport links around the Island, most will be able to reach their placements within 30 minutes by bus, and will have lots of opportunities to explore Malta during their time there.

Both of our new destinations also have a lot of similarities! As well as being Islands in the South Mediterranean, both have sunny climates, are top tourist destinations, and use British plug sockets! Watch this space for more updates on our new partners over the coming months.
