'I have gained more confidence working and communicating with international companies and building my networking abilities. I feel that my ideas and work are valued.'
I wanted to get more experience for my future career.
In my role as an admin assistant, my responsibilities have been administration, social media management and marketing.
I have learnt so many things that will help me in public relations, which is the career I want to pursue in the future. Last week I learned how to write a press release which I would not have had the opportunity to do had I not been here.
During the rest of my stay I would like to get more involved in the marketing side of the job as I have some ideas for campaigns. I hope to gain more experience in tasks that will give me transferrable skills that I can use in the PR sector.
I love Marseille – the weather is so nice compared to London. Most things are within walking distance so I don’t have to get public transport everywhere. Although honestly, I usually do, but only because the transport is easy to navigate and it comes so often.
The people here have been very accommodating. When I am trying to communicate in French and they get the impression that I’m English they try to use my language to make me feel more comfortable.
I feel like I adapt well to most scenarios and this experience solidified that notion for me.
I have gained more confidence working and communicating in liaison with international companies, building my networking abilities. I have learned what goes into running an organisation as I am working with the director. I feel as though my ideas and work are valued.
