The motivation
Once the opportunity arose for this work placement I jumped at the chance. I knew how beneficial it would be to learn new things about IT and work in general in an entirely different country.
The placement
It was a great educational experience. I learned a large amount about how work and IT function together in a real world setting. One of the highlights, for me, was meeting new people and developing a good working and general relationship with them.
The location
In Prague, the metro system was very reliable and cheap. Just about everything that you would need (shops, landmarks, etc), were all just a stone throw away from the location where we stayed.
The impact
Going to an entirely new country without any real assistance in day-to-day life was challenging but it really helped me gain independence and become a lot more confident with work.
Working internationally allowed me to work with people from a variety of backgrounds who spoke different languages, and to learn the ropes about life and work in a different country.
