The motivation

When I found out that this Turing Scheme placement was a month long, I instantly thought that this will be a great challenge, as it would allow me to grow personally and professionally.

I believed it would be an incredible opportunity to truly transform myself as person.

The placement

I was volunteering for a company called Habitat for Humanity, a non-profitable charity that build affordable housing and promotes home ownership as a means to break the cycle of poverty.

It was an amazing experience. I got to help people and make a difference in their lives. It was an opportunity to make a positive impact in communities which was incredibly fulfilling.

I worked with three wonderful friends, which added an extra layer of enjoyment. We supported each other and we made sure we worked as a team to carry out tasks effectively.

Our tasks included testing and fixing donations and managing inventory. It enhanced my problem-solving skills, creativity, and organization.

The location

Canada is a stunning country with breath-taking landscapes and natural beauty. It has really and truly expanded my cultural awareness.

The experience was extremely well organized with activities planned for us, from hiking, sports events, visiting the food market and seeing the fireworks on Canada Day.

I have met so many amazing people who have had a positive impact on my personal and professional growth.

The teachers were so supportive throughout the trip, and I will always appreciate their guidance. They took care of us but also made sure we grew into independent and adaptable individuals.
