The motivation
I thought it would be a great opportunity to gain experience working in the interior design industry.
The placement
I have been working as a design intern and my role has been mostly working on their office fit-out projects. This has been a great experience working in the interior design industry, I have been to design meetings and seen on-site projects being built. I have had a good time learning new software and growing my skillset.
The location
Though the vast majority of my stay has been through lockdown, I have enjoyed exploring the city, the history and the architecture really make it stand out. My favourite place to visit would probably be the walkways along the banks of the Vltava.
I look forward to gaining more experience in other areas of building design and construction particularly relating to sustainability. I hope to visit more areas of Prague and hopefully get to visit some of the local towns and cities around Prague.
The impact
Meeting new people hasn’t really been an option but all the people in my office have been friendly, giving lots of advice on what to do in Prague. Working a large team has been a new experience but it has been good to learn how such a large office operates. I’ve had a really nice experience with my housemates, we all only helping each other out, and make the most of the city under lockdown.
