"Learning new techniques and seeing new perspectives on training was a huge benefit."
The motivation
Working abroad is something I have always wanted to do. The experience of being in Spain has given me more confidence. I now think that going to work abroad in the future is definitely an achievable goal.
The placement
A real highlight was when we first arrived at the training ground; The facility was amazing. The group of students that I travelled with were brilliant and they really helped to make the trip so good.
It was really good to experience a different way of training and learning new techniques.
The location
The continental way of training is different. We had to adapt to understanding their lifestyle. They even train for a couple of hours in the morning on the days that they have games and this is something that we’re not used to in England.
Learning new techniques and seeing new perspectives on training was a huge benefit.

The impact
One of the main benefits, for me, was that once Jimmy (our coach) had gone home after the first week, me and Albert (as senior team members) were left in charge.
This was a really good experience for us and I think it really helped us to develop our leadership skills.
