My biggest learning experience was developing money management skills. I have learnt to budget for my own meals and expenses.
The motivation
I wanted to improve my employability skills and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to do so. I wanted this to be on my CV so when I go to future jobs they see I have experience not only in the UK but abroad.
The placement
I worked as a hotel receptionist. I was responsible for checking customers in and out. I also served customers at the hotel’s rooftop café.
Being abroad
I liked being abroad because it gave me a sense of independence – I was not relying on other people and also making new friends.
My CV was quite bland so it gave me a chance to build it up more. I’m hoping this can open more doors for the future.

The impact
My biggest learning experience was developing money management skills. I have learnt to budget for my own meals and expenses.
In the future, I want to work in the hospitality industry as a receptionist. This placement was the best I could have done, as it covers a wide range of jobs for the future.
