I believed it would an opportunity that I would never get again, and  something amazing to put on my CV, which will help me out in later life.

Experience is something that employer’s value: not only the experience  working in industry but in a different country. I hoped I would be able to build independent skills; budgeting and taking care of myself. 

My primary task was to create social media content for their Facebook and Instagram. I was given professional photographs and had free rein to create content.

I was asked my opinion on how to improve their social media presence. Using my suggestions, I was invited to create a presence on a new social media site. I chose twitter, and created the landing page and developed content.

During my last week I took the initiative to help the new student that was taking over from me, helping him to get him set up and understand what he would be doing. 

Everybody in Rethymno is extremely friendly. They have adapted to the fact that most people coming over are either tourists or students.

I enjoyed exploring the depths of the city and the old town.
