It was helpful to observe qualified electrician wiring up the building, and then be able to try it myself afterwards.
The motivation
I’ve completed a lot of work experience in the UK, and wanted to have a new experience outside of my own country. I hoped to get a new insight into working in a foreign region and broaden my horizons.
The placement
I worked for a company called J.L Furtado, and the job that I completed was in electrical work. In my role, I focussed on wiring up socket outlets and keeping the work area clean and free from hazards.
It was helpful to observe qualified electrician wiring up the building, and then I was able to do it myself afterwards.
The location
I really enjoyed visiting cultural places during the weekend and learning about the history of the area. Most importantly, I enjoyed being in the environment of working on site in a foreign country.
The impact
I gained amazing experience on what it is it like on working on a site. It will certainly help me to remain calm when I work on site in the future.
I hope this will help me to get an apprenticeship in the near future.
