Growing up, you are told what to do. This placement has taught me that you need to be independent and look around with your eyes and guess what needs to be done.
The motivation
I applied for the placement out of the blue. I am so grateful I did it. I had never done anything like it nor did I believe my application would get me anywhere yet it did.
The placement
My work placement at DNA was amazing. I was able to put into practice a lot of techniques that I have learnt at College. The ladies were amazing. I washed hair, braided hair, cleaned the store and folded towels.
The placement was very clean. Everyone who came in was so sweet and everyone seemed like family. I got to know everyone individually and made sure to include everyone.
The location
Crete was so beautiful. The heat was amazing and so was the food.
It was so amazing to find out the people and culture are so nice. I would definitely go back.
The impact
I have learnt about money management. Being 18 and in a new country for the first time sure does come with holding back with what you want and need when it comes to buying stuff.
