We were pleased to welcome our project partners to London last week for the kick off meeting of our new European project, SEPLO. SEPLO stands for ‘Simplifying the Evidencing Process for Learning Outcomes’. Over the next two years, we will be working with 5 partners to develop a set of innovative tools and learning resources that will support VET colleges, work placement hosting organisations and participants to understand and engage with ECVET.Our project is funded by the Erasmus + programme.
ECVET (The European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training) is a technical framework to facilitate the transfer, recognition and accumulation of assessed learning outcomes with a view to achieving a qualification.
Put simply, it is a technical framework that can be used to identify learning outcomes and record participants progress towards or achievement of these outcomes during a mobility placement. Outcomes can be related to technical components of a vocational course or soft skills development.
Our partners have a varied understanding and experience of using the framework to support their European mobility activity. Together we have recognized the need to develop tools that will provide a straightforward and accessible approach to using ECVET, which will be specifically aimed at lower level vocational qualifications. We are looking forward to collaborating with them on this project.
The kick off meeting gave us an opportunity to meet face to face, and jointly plan our project activity. We will be setting up a project website and social media channels over the coming months, so watch this space..
