
James joined as Partnerships Manager in 2018, and is the key point of contact for our European partners and UK Colleges. He’s also responsible for managing the delivery of our international work placements and delivering collaborative projects.
He recently collaborated with a range of partners on the UMJ project and led on the creation of a toolkit to support the soft skills and personal development of young people aged 16-30.
James has extensive experience of managing and delivering programmes relating to youth and adult skills, social inclusion, and community development. Prior to joining RiSE International, James worked at the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) as Area Education Manager. In this role, he led the delivery of education provision and partnerships within East London, managing tutor performance and development.
James has also worked as a Programme Manager at Quaker Social Action (QSA), and has taught in several London sixth forms and FE colleges, as well as in France, Spain and Germany.
James holds a BA (Hons) in History and Philosophy from London Metropolitan University; an MA in Contemporary History and Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London; a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA); and a PGCE from the Institute of Education, University of London.
