“I went into the company with shock as the skill of the people there was unmatched. I took this opportunity to learn new skills from them and adapt my programming skills. I learnt how to be an effective employee and effectively manage my times, as well as how to set targets and achieve them in the workplace.”
Some of our placements include:
- Leading on social media marketing and promotion
- Designing and creating code to meet specific business objectives
- Testing network security, resolving cybersecurity issues, and ‘ethical hacking’
As each placement is unique our students might gain experience in a range of different areas, such as:
- Carrying out a network cybersecurity audit
- Developing back-end modules for a web application using Python
- Creating online social media campaigns using a range of design software
“I was placed with a start-up company specialising in Artificial Intelligence. Some of my tasks included helping the company’s CEO create a business presentation for entering the Vietnamese and British markets. This gave me the insight I needed to understand just how fast paced and demanding the IT and business world is.”
“I learnt about the Selenium testing framework for browsers. I think opportunities will be much more likely to happen now I’ve done this. I was told by a recruiter at IBM that they were impressed with the reference that I got back from the host company.”
